Chief of Strategy – Southern Cross Healthcare, Southern Cross

Tracey is Chief of Strategy for Southern Cross Healthcare. She has responsibility leading the development of strategies to support the future development and sustainability of the business. In particular, this relates to diversification of the core private hospital offering into broader healthcare services including rehabilitation and mental health and wellness services. In addition, Tracey leads the marketing team within Southern Cross Healthcare and manages the relationship with all the joint venture partnerships which range from surgical hospitals and day surgery units to community based rehabilitation companies.

Tracey sits on the board of a number of joint venture businesses which have a particular focus of supporting people with challenges related to their mental health and wellbeing. These include Raise, TBI Health, and Active +.
Prior to this appointment, Tracey has held a number of senior roles within the Southern Cross Healthcare Group of businesses, where she has worked since 2011. She has also held a number of influential positions working within the primary care and public health systems, including roles at Counties Manukau District Health Board, Pharmac, Ministry of Health, DHBNZ and Pegasus Health.

Tracey trained in New Zealand as a pharmacist, completing a MSc (Clinical Pharmacy) in the UK. In addition, she holds a MBA from Massey University. Tracey has also participated in a number of learning experiences including at Kaiser Permanente, Value Based Care at Harvard Business School and the North Karelia project in Finland. She is a Fellow of the International Federation of Health Plans and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
